Telok Kurau Secondary School is a special icon in the national education of Singapore, having been established in the same year as Singapore’s independence (1965). Although we have been a boutique-size school with an average pupil enrolment of about 800 over the years, we are always striving to increase our enrolment even as more pupils wish to gain entry with each passing year. Despite the increasing enrolment, we desire to provide the individual pupil with the same amount of personal care and attention.
Our strengths include a warm and cozy learning climate that builds pupils’ self-esteem and confidence. We are a school of opportunities and due to our small size, we are able to offer Triple Sciences to the pupils in our Express courses. There is also a wide range of subject combinations availablPre to our pupils in the Normal Academic and Normal Technical Courses
Affirmed by SPRING Singapore in March 2005 with the People Developer Standard, our teachers make learning more engaging and enjoyable through brain-based learner-centered pedagogy, such as incorporating cooperative learning strategies in class. TKS delivers quality holistic education to nurture and develop our pupils into responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
Graduates of TKSS are confident, independent learners, and innovative and enterprising at the same time. They are responsible citizens who believe in racial integration and contributing to society, are good team players, lead healthy lifestyles and have a strong sense of appreciation for the arts.
